New Studio – my creative collective in OTR : Robin McKerrell Photography

Behind the scenes, Local Stories

I’m excited to announce that construction will begin soon on my new photography studio in OTR! I’ve had a great studio in East Walnut Hills for the past 3 years but its time to open my doors and share more of what I do in the neighborhood where I live.
The space can be found right near the new 3CDC building and Nick Lachey’s new bar. There will be an open store front and everyone will be welcome to come and share in the space-it has great light and will be a quiet studyworkcreative collective. Be prepared to see lots of images that I have been stockpiling for years – unveiled. I also have some great shoots planned with my lovely neighbors – check back soon for sneak peeks of my shoot with Sloane this week!

New photos of me! Robin McKerrell by Blythe Winslow Photography

Behind the scenes

This has been long overdue! Finally I have some new shots of me to post and I’m not modeling-these might be the first normal, candid, portrait, non-model shots that I’ve done in a very long time. As a photographer I’m always behind the camera these days and rarely in front of it. Luckily, my friend Blythe Winslow helped me out- check out her website. I love her style because her photos take you to the lovely world of Blythe, my favorites are the photos of her childrenfamily. She has a way of capturing real moments and bringing you a close intimate view of her sitters. For me, as a photographer there is no greater compliment than having another photographer ask you to photograph them. Its such a fun experience to share together. I hope you like them 🙂

For this shoot Blythe focused on capturing my fun side. All smiles. We grabbed our cameras and went exploring. I love these shots because they were taken in Washington Park (my front yard) right outside my new house.Blythe is hilarious and pointed out that I can make the street in front of an over flowing garbage can look good 😉 – NYC has always been a huge inspiration and influence for my work. I love the city feel of this shot. You get the energy and excitement!

Freezing February-Snow Nudes

Behind the scenes

As promised here is another exciting February nude photoshoot. In case you were wondering boudoir and nudes are not limited to females…watch out ladies the men are after some of the action too! Be prepared to see these images pop up again…Today I was lucky enough to go out in this FREEZING weather and photograph a friend in the nude (I’ll leave out names since the photos this month will bare it all). We had to shoot quickly so that my team didnt freeze completely-it was soooooo cold!! We found an awesome igloo that was abandoned so we threw a cows hide over it and went to town shooting. Major props to my model for keeping it together and mastering some amazing shots. Here’s a behind the scenes photo of me at work. I hope you enjoy and find this as entertaining as we did!

Welcome! Robin McKerrell Photography

Behind the scenes

Hello everyone! Welcome to my new blog.

I’m so excited to begin this journey. I’ve spent the last few months rebranding my business-Robin McKerrell Photography. After graduating from DAAP with my BFA, years of blogging, shooting, and teaching photography I’ve finally found my style and my place in the industry. I’ve taken the time to really explore many aspects of the field and get my feet wet with different kinds of shooting: commercial work, fashion, editorial, food, babies, models, seniors, you name it.  I’m very happy to announce officially that I am now shooting weddings (yes, I still shoot portraits too) with an emphasis on portraiture and documentary style shooting. I love telling stories with my images and sharing the energy of the day, event, couple, sitter, etc.

Please visit my new website too and check out some of my photos. I am very proud to share them! This collection represents me, my blood, sweat, and tears (literally), many long hours, and lots of love. I’m so grateful for all of the amazing people I’ve had the opportunity to work with, and everyone that has helped me along the way. Thank you to each and every one of you for your interest, support, and kind words-all of which goes a long way!

(Here’s a little behind the scenes shot-I’m well known for my “photo yoga”)
